The Next Level of the Web
Bridger is leveraging the Overweb -- a trust layer over the current web that allows the crowdsourcing of knowledge in the form of bridges that provide deeper context and information integrity.
Bridger’s approach enables the development of a densely connected information ecology, which has the potential to make the discovery of trustworthy information and context without search.
The internet as we know it is facing a critical challenge with fake news being one of the most debated socio-political topics of recent years. With a 52% perceived frequency of online news websites reporting fake news stories in the United States and 96% of U.S. adults voicing distrust with social media. Bridger provides a community-based solution for sensemaking and marks a new day of sharing knowledge online built with the future in mind.
The Bridger Vision
Have you ever wondered why the Internet is organized around pages?
The web is the most powerful communication technology ever invented, but if you want to find something, you have to navigate between one whole page and another. Then you have to search on that page, for what you are looking for....if it's there at all.
"How can the internet work more like the human brain?" is the question, Bridger founder Daveed Benjamin asked himself. The human mind works by linking ideas to ideas. Bridger enables anyone to create synaptic connections between ideas on any webpage. Participants bridge ideas, rather than relying on scarce hyperlinks created by webpage authors that mechanically link to entire webpages.
Transparency and context need to be made visible in order to make online information trustworthy.
Freedom of Knowledge
Ideas should be free to be spoken, to be discussed, debated and fact checked.
All people, irrespective of race, gender, age and wealth should have the same access to knowledge and to the ability to create, share, and monetize knowledge.
